In common with most websites, our content is categorised and spread around various pages. 1) All the pictures on this site are stills taken directly from the films themselves and thus give an indication of what you will be seeing.
2) Throughout the station you'll find references to "R/T" This simply means "Running Time" and that is given in minutes and seconds. EG: R/T 7' 34" means the film runs for 7 minutes and 34 seconds.
The quickest way to find a feature is to go to the Quicklist which shows all current titles if you just click QUICKLIST

What is TheRailwayStation.tv?
Well, in essence, it's a Television Station devoted to railways, on demand. In the past films were just that, films, both fiddly to watch, short and expensive to buy. Then along came video so features could be longer, and cheaper. They were easier to distribute and easier to watch. DVDs followed, giving easier access to individual parts of features, although they still cost as much as videos. Now there's "streaming" . . . . Streaming directly to your PC is the most "immediate" form of distributing movie footage and gives the you the opportunity to watch just what you want and no more - at a cost vastly less than ever before. It also brings the chance to see new footage within a a very short time frame from when it happens. TheRailwayStation is, like its namesakes on the railways of the World, the place to come to to see trains in action, the place to go to see some of the finest railway action anywhere. Here's another example, in the size they play "natively". You can, if your computer and internet connection support it, play them at full screen size, although the picture quality won't be quite so good that size as the size has been optimised to allow slower machines and connections to at least play them:

TheRailwayStation is a professional railway production house, streaming features instead of selling videos and DVDs. As such, it's not "free" like so much material out on the web, (although we do have free samplers scattered around the station). Our objective is to provide you with features you really want to see at the lowest cost possible. If you go to our Ticket Office page you'll see a longer explanation, but here we're just letting you know our philosophy. We know that there's plenty of free material out on the web, but we've never seen any that's held our attention! Our material is professionally made and produced, so we're sure you will value it as we do and look forward to an ongoing dialogue with friends old and new as we all enjoy the wonderful world of railways at TheRailwayStation.
